The founder of the school Shri. P. Venugopalan (1911-1976) was a great freedom fighter and visionary.He felt that education was the light which can dispel all the social evils that was prevalent at the time of indpencence. He started four schools one at Agaram, Lakshmipuram, Perambur and Vysarpadi.
At Lakshmipuram when the school was started there was no facilities like proper roads street lights etc..During rainy season the area will be flooded, but the teachers inspired by him used brave nature and run the school.
Most of the people in this area were uneducated and the first generation of the educated population of this area were from this school only. Many of the Alumni's are engineers, Doctors and IAS officers.
Initially the school was started as a tamil medium school under the name " Bharatha Matha Madhava School ". Later on " Veera Savarkar Netaji Matriculation School " was started to cater to the new educated population who wanted to give their children English Medium education.
Now Mr. V. Mohan popularly called " Bharatha Matha Mohan ", the 2nd son of Shri P.Venugopalan is the correspondent . Following his father's dream of making this school a model school in this area, he has tied up with Edserv and started " Smart Class " in which all the class will have LCD projected class and online tests for all students in each class in accordance with the latest technology . Thus our service will continue, giving the best education at minimum fees.
